EXPERIENCE
I have worked with women, elders, teens and families in a variety
of settings including private practice, high schools, colleges and mental health agencies for over 14 years. My approach
is humanistic with a focus on the family system, drug and alcohol and mental illness and it's impact on family members and cognitive
restructuring. One of my passions is a life-long study of the mind and body connection including natural healing through
nature, energy work, body work, meditation, healthful nutrition, physical movement and aroma therapy. To support
this, I have completed a year long massage therapy program, thereby enhancing my knowledge and skills in how emotions can
manifest physically in one's body and what can be helpful in releasing these emotions before they manifest into illness.
I also have a solid background in sociology and culture and how it influences each individual's emotional responses and and
thereby mental well being. In particular, I work with women on how one's culture can influence how we perceive ourselves
and the choices we make to navigate through our daily lives.
